Meet the MusiciansCorey Averill, CelloCorey is the founder of Duo Con Brio. You can read his bio here. Jim McLennan, ViolinJames received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oregon on both violin and trombone. He continued on to receive his teaching credentials from Portland State University. James got a Masters of Music on violin from the University of Southern California and then continued with 2 years of Doctorate work at the University of Arizona. Mr. McLennan was a former assistant conductor for the Portland Youth Philharmonic. Jim is on faculty for the University of Arizona Extended Studies. He currently performs with the Portland Opera Orchestra as assistant concertmaster, the Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra, and Sinfonia Concertante. Janet George, ViolinJanet received her Bachelor of Arts and Communication, as well as her Bachelor of Music from University of Arizona. She continued on with her Masters in Music from the University of Arizona. She currently performs with the Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra as assistant 2nd violin, performs with the Portland Opera Orchestra, and the Oregon Symphony. She has participated in the Cascade Music Festival. Hae-Jin Kim, ViolinHae-Jin received her Bachelors and Masters Degree in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music. She is a founding member of the Artesan String Quartet and the Pacifica Trio. Hae-Jin has participated in such music festivals as the Music Academy of the West, the Kent/Blossom Music Festival, and the Idywild School of Music Summer Festival. Ms. Kim is a dedicated violin instructor here in the Portland area. Kim Harrington, ViolinKim received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Arizona State University and studied violin with Dr. Frank Spinosa. She currently teaches private violin lessons and teaches 4th grade in the Hillsboro School District. Karen Vincent, Viola/ViolinKaren received her Bachelor of Music in Performance, and Education Degree from University of Washington. She currently teaches at Linfield College and Western Oregon University. The courses Karen teaches are private viola, Chamber Music, String Methods, and Orchestra Lab. She performs regularly with the Portland Baroque Orchestra, Salem Chamber Orchestra (principal viola), Linfield Chamber Orchestra (principal viola), Western Oregon Symphony (principal viola), and is the violinist for Trio Saint Cecilia. Brian Quincey, ViolaBrian received his Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Southern California. He is currently a member of the Oregon Symphony and teaches privately as well. He also performs with the Third Angle Contemporary Music Ensemble. Danny Seidenberg, Viola/ViolinA member of the Turtle Island String Quartet from 1992 to 2003, Danny Seidenberg, has enjoyed a varied and eclectic musical life. He made his solo viola debut at age 16 with the Pittsburgh Symphony as part of their Young People's Concert series, then went to on the Juilliard School and a professional tenure in New York. Among the groups he performed there with are American Ballet Theater, New York City Opera, American Symphony Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, Orchestra of St. Lukes, New York City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Philharmonia Virtuosi, Solisti New York, Dance Theater of Harlem, Soviet Emigre Orchestra, New York Virtuosi, Radio City Music Hall, many Broadway shows and multifarious chamber music. Jane also has an active private cello studio and is on staff at the Community Music Center. Abby Mages, FluteAbby received her Bachelor's of Music in flute performance from New England Conservatory of Music. She is an active freelance flutist. Abby is the owner (along with her husband) of Environmental Building Supply here in Portland, and Bend, Oregon. Tim McCarthy, GuitarTim received his Bachelor and Masters of Music in Education from University of Portland. He currently teaches music at Our Lady of the Lake School in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He is also lead guitar/singer/trombonist for the band Night Flight. Julie McCarlJulie has worked as a professional musician wearing many hats since age 18. Starting her career at the top, of a mountain that is...Timberline Lodge...she sang with a jazz group for many years and also formed many "folk groups" throughout the years. Her mentor, Mr. Richard Kohnstamm produced an album called simply "Julie" and it was sold at Timberline. She has self-produced other albums..."Sweet Dreams and Lullabies".. and co-produced with Pat Schweibert a project called "Momma". She wrote several of the songs on that album. Read More
