Jim McLennan, Violin

James received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Oregon on both violin and trombone. He continued on to receive his teaching credentials from Portland State University. James got a Masters of Music on violin from the University of Southern California and then continued with 2 years of Doctorate work at the University of Arizona. Mr. McLennan was a former assistant conductor for the Portland Youth Philharmonic. Jim is on faculty for the University of Arizona Extended Studies. He currently performs with the Portland Opera Orchestra as assistant concertmaster, the Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra, and Sinfonia Concertante.

Janet George, Violin

Janet received her Bachelor of Arts and Communication, as well as her Bachelor of Music from University of Arizona. She continued on with her Masters in Music from the University of Arizona. She currently performs with the Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra as assistant 2nd violin, performs with the Portland Opera Orchestra, and the Oregon Symphony. She has participated in the Cascade Music Festival.

Hae-Jin Kim, Violin

Hae-Jin received her Bachelors and Masters Degree in violin performance from the Eastman School of Music. She is a founding member of the Artesan String Quartet and the Pacifica Trio. Hae-Jin has participated in such music festivals as the Music Academy of the West, the Kent/Blossom Music Festival, and the Idywild School of Music Summer Festival. Ms. Kim is a dedicated violin instructor here in the Portland area.

Kim Harrington, Violin

Kim received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Arizona State University and studied violin with Dr. Frank Spinosa. She currently teaches private violin lessons and teaches 4th grade in the Hillsboro School District.

Karen Vincent, Viola/Violin

Karen received her Bachelor of Music in Performance, and Education Degree from University of Washington. She currently teaches at Linfield College and Western Oregon University. The courses Karen teaches are private viola, Chamber Music, String Methods, and Orchestra Lab. She performs regularly with the Portland Baroque Orchestra, Salem Chamber Orchestra (principal viola), Linfield Chamber Orchestra (principal viola), Western Oregon Symphony (principal viola), and is the violinist for Trio Saint Cecilia.

Brian Quincey, Viola

Brian received his Bachelor of Music in Performance from the University of Southern California. He is currently a member of the Oregon Symphony and teaches privately as well. He also performs with the Third Angle Contemporary Music Ensemble.

Danny Seidenberg, Viola/Violin

A member of the Turtle Island String Quartet from 1992 to 2003, Danny Seidenberg, has enjoyed a varied and eclectic musical life. He made his solo viola debut at age 16 with the Pittsburgh Symphony as part of their Young People's Concert series, then went to on the Juilliard School and a professional tenure in New York. Among the groups he performed there with are American Ballet Theater, New York City Opera, American Symphony Orchestra, American Composers Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony, Orchestra of St. Lukes, New York City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Philharmonia Virtuosi, Solisti New York, Dance Theater of Harlem, Soviet Emigre Orchestra, New York Virtuosi, Radio City Music Hall, many Broadway shows and multifarious chamber music.

Jane Day, Cello

Jane received a Bachelor of Music in Education from the University of Portland. In addition she obtained her teaching certificate from Portland State University. She continued on and is Suzuki trained. She performs with the Portland Opera Orchestra, and the Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra. Jane also has an active private cello studio and is on staff at the Community Music Center.

Abby Mages, Flute

Abby received her Bachelor's of Music in flute performance from New England Conservatory of Music. She is an active freelance flutist. Abby is the owner (along with her husband) of Environmental Building Supply here in Portland, and Bend, Oregon.

Tim McCarthy, Guitar

Tim received his Bachelor and Masters of Music in Education from University of Portland. He currently teaches music at Our Lady of the Lake School in Lake Oswego, Oregon. He is also lead guitar/singer/trombonist for the band Night Flight.

Bette Boyer, Violin/Viola

Bette received her Masters of Music in Education from the Eastman School of Music. She is a former member of the Oregon Symphony and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestras. Bette is currently Principal Violist with the Portland Festival Symphony, Washington Chamber Orchestra, and violinist with the Asiana String Quartet.

Julie McCarl

Julie has worked as a professional musician wearing many hats since age 18. Starting her career at the top, of a mountain that is...Timberline Lodge...she sang with a jazz group for many years and also formed many "folk groups" throughout the years. Her mentor, Mr. Richard Kohnstamm produced an album called simply "Julie" and it was sold at Timberline. She has self-produced other albums..."Sweet Dreams and Lullabies".. and co-produced with Pat Schweibert a project called "Momma". She wrote several of the songs on that album.

Catherine Barrett, Harp

Catherine received her Bachelor of Music in harp from the Oberlin Conservatory and a Master of Music degree from Rice University. Since graduating, she has held principal harp positions with the Sarasota Symphony, Yucatan Symphony Orchestra in Mexico, Singapore Symphony and Dayton Philharmonic, as well as Assistant Principal Harp with the Sao Paulo State Symphony in Brazil. In 2001, she performed as a soloist with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, playing the Harp Concerto by Ginastera. Catherine has also been a concerto soloist with the Doctors Orchestra of Houston, Shepherd School Symphony, the Kingsport Orchestra, and the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra.

Mont Chris Hubbard

Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Reed College in 2006. He has released three albums of solo piano improvisations. He is also the co-author of Carnies: The Musical, which has received four Portland Area Musical Theatre Award nominations and will see its world premiere in the spring of 2011. Chris has a diverse resume that includes music directing and accompanying at some of Portland's most prominent theaters, including Portland Center Stage and Broadway Rose Theatre Company; composing for theatre and web series; and teaching jazz band at the Portland Waldorf High School. He is also active in the pop music world, appearing on many Portland artists' albums and live, in such venues as The Aladdin Theatre and the Edgefield Amphitheater.

Gail Gillespie, Flute

I am a flutist, recently retired from the U.S. Marine Band, "The President's Own", in Washington, D.C. Besides playing principal flute in the band and orchestra, I was very active in chamber music with the President's Own. We had a chamber concert series, but also did a lot of background music for state functions, at the White House, and at the State Department. In particular, I did a lot of playing in flute/harp duos, trios (fl/vln/cello), and woodwind quintets, both in my official capacity, and as a free-lance flutist, in the Washington, D.C. area.

Randy Burlingame, Sound Engineer

Randy Burlingame has worked in the music industry for over 35 years. As a third generation musician, he understands what it takes to make each performance a satisfying experience for the audience. For 15 years, Mr. Burlingame worked as co-producer and sound engineer of "Home Grown Live", a locally well know jazz program, broadcast from KMHD radio on the campus of Mt. Hood Community College. On the radio show, he was responsible for running live sound for groups to play on the radio, while simultaneously monitoring the on air announcer. This gave him a unique experience, giving him the ability to work with diverse situations, where many variables can be involved.
